You're in the new house, feet up on the coffee table, warming yourself by a glowing fire, but you're lonely. No one's come to visit. Your web address is no different from your home address. If you want people to come visit, you have to let them know where you live. To some extent, Stairwell can provide that service (that's when we're acting as barker) by publicizing your address in appropriate places on the Internet and negotiating links from other sites on your behalf. But you should also make your domain name known through more traditional means, since often these means may attract the most attention from your intended audience. Your domain name should appear prominently on business cards and stationary, in newsletters and correspondence, in brochures, press releases and promotional materials, on billboards, on your trade show booth or vehicles, in radio and TV ads. It should be included in the signature file of your e-mail documents, and you might consider wearing a button on your lapel. We even heard of a guy who had his domain name tattooed on his forehead (clearly, an optional approach.)
