Lee Davis Bio

Writer-producer-director Lee Davis graduated with a Filmmaking Degree from the University of Georgia and spent the first three years of his working life as a TV news photographer at WTVM in Columbus, Georgia. Within six months he was writing and producing news and entertainment specials as well as hosting Channel 9's hugely popular horror series, The Saturday Late Show.

Soon Davis made the leap to management, serving as Director of Station Marketing and Program Promotion at WRBL in Columbus, GA and WSPA in Spartanburg, SC.

Yearning for the freedom of full-time independent production, Davis left television and created GLDMedia, a communications consultancy serving educational, medical and Fortune 500 businesses worldwide.

Lee Davis has written, produced and directed hundreds of commercials, short films, industrials and documentaries for an international list of clients. His programs have earned multiple Aurora awards, Cine Golden Eagle statuettes, a dozen Telly Awards, and honors from the US International Film and Video Festival and WorldFest Houston. Davis was honored with the 2001Excellence Award from the Council on Advancement and Support of Education (CASE).

As a dramatist, Davis' stage play The Exhibit toured nationally. The Curse of Dracula, a full-cast Halloween radio drama which he wrote and directed, has been broadcast all over the world.

As a screenwriter, Davis's feature script Unaccustomed As We Are: The Story of Laurel and Hardy won top honors at the Houston and Charleston International Film Festivals. He has written several feature films, including Purchase of God (1997) and two Georgia Public Television series: Transitions and the Telly Award-winning Road Trip.

As a frequent speaker at educational and professional events, Lee Davis recently hosted a seminar entitled "Telling Stories on Video" at the National Religious Broadcasters convention in Nashville.

Davis lives in LaGrange, Georgia with his wife, Amy, and their children, Alex and Lori.
