[ Nick Nolte, Timothy Hutton, Armand Assante ] Sydney Lumet directs a raw one. Not only is the language raw, but you get the feelin' that the film coulda cooked a bit longer too before release. Not great. 1990.

[ Sharon Stone, Gene Hackman, Leonardo DiCaprio ] Sam Raimi pulls out his usual visual stops, but hacks his way through the trite storyline. Stone does the female Eastwood to good effect. 1995.

[ Bill Murray, Geena Davis, Randy Quaid ] Way underrated, this Murray effort was widely ignored in its big-screen release. Rent it and cash in a bank vault of laughs. 1990.

[ Kevin Bacon, Jami Gertz ] This is one that Kevin Bacon scratches off his lengthy resume. See it only for Bacon's laughable mustache in early scenes. 1986.

[ Tom Selleck, Laura San Giacomo ] Interesting script and top-notch performances make for a nice time-passer. Don't rearrange your life to watch it, but give it a shot when it shows on Cinemax. 1990.
