Family Business: [ Sean Connery, Dustin Hoffman, Matthew Broderick ] A can't-miss cast. A can't-miss premise. A can't-miss director (Sidney Lumet.) Can't never could. 1989.
Fantasia: [ Animated ] The animated movie by which all others are measured. This groundbreaking Disney classic could very be defined as the "first music video." 1940.
Father of the Bride: [ Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Martin Short ] This remake of the Spencer Tracy classic follows the amusing desperation a father embroiled in wedding plans. Excellent performances by both Martins (Steve and Short) make this a winner. 1991.
Father of the Bride II: [ Steve Martin, Diane Keaton, Martin Short ] This is pregnancy romp is a sequel to the above movie and a loose remake of Father's Little Dividend, a 1945 Spencer Tracy effort. Not as good as the other Father film, but sparked with good stuff, including a funny bit by Eugene Levy as a sleazy contractor. 1995.
Fantastic Voyage: [ Stephen Boyd, Raquel Welch, Donald Pleasance ] Startling special effects for the sixties, this shrinking scientist saga seems somewhat stale. Still, Raquel is sexy in a skintight spacesuit. 1966.
Fargo: [ Frances McDormand, Steve Buscemi, William H. Macy ] Vying for the Doc's '96 Medical Miracle of the Year, this Coen brothers stunner is a rip-roarin', blood-pooling masterpiece. As good as they get. 1996.
Fast Break: [ Gabe Kaplan, Harold Sylvester, Bernard King ] "Bad News Bears" meets "Welcome Back Kotter" meets "Hoosiers." Familiar premise has numerous laughs and legit roundball action. 1979.
Faster Pussycat...Kill! Kill!: [ Tura Sutana, Haji, Lori Williams ] Headlight provacateur Russ Meyer delivers the goods in this boffo go-go adventure. 1966.
Fatal Attraction: [ Michael Douglas, Glenn Close, Anne Archer ] Scared the poo out of me (and every married man in America). Archer and Close are riveting examples of the best and worst of the delicate delegation. 1987.
Fat Man and Little Boy: [ Paul Newman, Dwight Schultz ] Take a serious subject like the development of the atomic bomb, put Paul Newman in it and that Murdoch guy from "The A-Team"...wait a minute. That guy from "The A-Team?" This mistake and many more make for a flatulent flop. 1989.
Forrest Gump: [ Tom Hanks, Robin Wright, Sally Field, Gary Sinise ] Tom Hanks wins a shrimp boat full of awards (including his second consecutive Best Actor Oscar) as the man-child with a penchant for good fortune. 1994.
Four Weddings and a Funeral: [ Hugh Grant, Andie Macdowell ] Any movie that starts with ten consecutive "f" words can't be all bad. This break-through hit made Grant a recognizable star in America. 1994.
